Explain these three eschatological distinctions and how they apply to an understanding of hope in the present. Answer: Explanation of the divisions of eschatology: Eschatology is a basic topic of debate for years. This is related to the future of the church. The word Eschatology means teachings thing like end of time, death, judgment and the afterlife. The divisions of eschatology are: 1) Personal Eschatology refers to the fact which includes individual beliefs about the end of the life and other personal debates. 2) Corporate Eschatology refers to human kind and human history. Therefore, it is more about the species. 3) Cosmic Eschatology is all about the end of the world or the whole cosmos[1]. Applications: The applications of different divisions of Eschatology are: 1) Personal Eschatology is the personal belief about the physical death until resurrection. The other parts are applied to what happens in the church. 2) Corporate Eschatology is applicable for the future of the universe. It highlights the fast onto the present. This helps the society to have knowledge of the future. 3) The cosmic eschatology includes the balance between the individual eschatology or the death, and the time of coming of Jesus. Therefore, unconsciousness leads to a spiritual binding in the society[2].
